Industries Save 7 Percent from Bonded Logistics Center: Minister

Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) can save logistics costs for industries by 5-7 percent, According to the Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartanto.

"The savings are quite high, but industries can save a minimum of 5-7 percent," said Airlangga in Bekasi,on Friday (23/9).

"Usually we take a one to two months to import goods. With PLB, we can take the goods in retail, so it can be imported in retail," Airlangga added.

For the record, Singapore is one of the ASEAN countries that has successfully implemented the PLB, making its national industries move competitive.

In the meantime, regulation on PLB is stipulated in Government Regulation Number 85 of 2015 as the amendment of the Government Regulation Number 32 of 2009 on Bonded Hoarding.

Under the regulation, PLB will receive incentives such as tax-free import excise tax exemption for companies that want to enter the special education department and exemption of value added tax (VAT).

In addition, the PLB is also given the exemption of Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (VAT BM) for goods being moved from one PLB to another.
